Media Training Halifax | Warren Weeks

Atlantic Canada's media environment is tight-knit, experienced and pays close attention.

Halifax is the communications hub of Atlantic Canada. CBC Nova Scotia. CTV Atlantic. Global. The Chronicle Herald. A press corps that is experienced, well-sourced and deeply connected to the communities and organizations it covers. In a market this size, your reputation travels fast — in both directions.

The good news: I come to you.

Over Twenty Years of Halifax Experience

I've been delivering media training to Halifax and Atlantic Canada organizations since 2003 — working with insurance companies, educational institutions, associations and conference audiences across the region. Few media trainers know this market as well as I do or have been coming here as long.

Halifax clients understand that reputation is everything in a market where everyone knows everyone. They operate in an environment where a single poorly handled media interview can have consequences that last for years. Preparation isn't a luxury here. It's a necessity.

Every session I deliver in Halifax is built from the ground up around your organization. No generic programs. No junior trainers. Just me, fully prepared, with your team.

Halifax Organizations Face Unique Media Pressures

Atlantic Canada's business community operates in one of Canada's most relationship-driven media environments. Insurance and financial services organizations navigate consumer advocacy coverage and regulatory scrutiny. Educational institutions face media attention around funding, governance and student issues. Associations representing Atlantic Canada's key industries are frequently called upon to speak to policy issues that affect the entire region.

In a market this interconnected, the organizations that handle media most effectively aren't the ones with the best instincts. They're the ones that prepared.

What a Session Looks Like

Every session begins with a thorough understanding of your organization…your issues, your industry and what your spokespeople are likely to face. From there, we develop and stress-test your key messages as a group, then put each participant through a series of simulated media interviews in print, radio and television formats, conducted by a veteran journalist playing the role of reporter.

It's as close to the real thing as you can get. Participants leave knowing exactly how reporters think, what they're looking for and how to tell their organization's story clearly and effectively under pressure.

Sessions are available in half-day and full-day formats, for groups of any size, and for individual executives requiring focused one-on-one preparation.

Virtual Sessions Also Available

For Halifax-based organizations that prefer remote delivery, virtual sessions are available and every bit as rigorous as the in-person experience. Ideal for organizations with teams spread across Nova Scotia or the broader Atlantic region.
