Media Training Vancouver | Warren Weeks
You shouldn't have to fly anyone to Toronto to get world-class media training.
Vancouver's media landscape is as demanding as any in Canada. CBC Vancouver. Global BC. CTV. The Vancouver Sun. Business in Vancouver. If your spokespeople aren't ready for the questions they're going to be asked (and the ones they're not expecting), the consequences can be significant.
The good news: I come to you.
A Familiar Face in BC
I've been working with public and private sector organizations in British Columbia for years. Delivering media training sessions, speaking at conferences and helping spokespeople at every level prepare for some of the most challenging media environments in the country.
BC clients get the same thing every client gets: a fully customized session built around their organization, their industry and the real issues they're likely to face. No off-the-shelf programs. No junior trainers. Just me, fully prepared, with your team.
Vancouver Organizations Face Unique Media Pressures
British Columbia has one of the most active and sophisticated media environments in Canada. Resource companies navigating environmental scrutiny. Technology firms managing rapid growth stories and public accountability. Healthcare organizations responding to public health pressures. First Nations and municipal governments handling complex consultation and policy issues. Provincial government spokespeople fielding questions from a press gallery that knows how to dig.
Whatever your sector, if your organization interacts with reporters (or might someday), your spokespeople need to be ready. The organizations that handle media most effectively aren't the ones with the best instincts. They're the ones that prepared.
What a Session Looks Like
Every session begins with a thorough understanding of your organization…your issues, your industry, your spokespeople and what they're likely to face. From there, we develop and stress-test your key messages as a group, and then put each participant through a series of simulated media interviews in print, radio and television formats…conducted by a veteran journalist playing the role of reporter.
It's as close to the real thing as you can get. Participants leave knowing exactly how reporters think, what they're looking for and how to tell their organization's story clearly and effectively under pressure.
Sessions are available in half-day and full-day formats, for groups of any size, and for individual executives requiring focused one-on-one preparation.
Virtual Sessions Also Available
For Vancouver-based organizations that prefer remote delivery, virtual sessions are available and every bit as rigorous as the in-person experience. Ideal for geographically dispersed teams or situations where bringing everyone into a room isn't practical.
Let's Talk
If your organization is based in Vancouver or anywhere in British Columbia, I'd be glad to have a conversation about your media training needs and put together a proposal. No obligation, no sales pressure.
