Media Training Sudbury | Warren Weeks
Northern Ontario's largest city. One of Canada's most distinctive media environments.
Sudbury is the economic and institutional hub of Northern Ontario — home to major mining operations, healthcare institutions, municipal government, post-secondary education and a range of associations and government ministries serving the region. CBC Sudbury. CTV Northern Ontario. The Sudbury Star. A media environment that covers its community closely and holds organizations accountable.
The good news: I come to you.
Experienced in Sudbury's Market
I've been delivering media training to Sudbury organizations for years — working with the municipality, local businesses, associations and government ministries serving Northern Ontario. Sudbury clients operate in a media environment that is community-rooted, relationship-driven and increasingly connected to provincial and national coverage of the mining, healthcare and public sector stories that define the region.
Every session is built from the ground up around your organization. No generic programs. No junior trainers. Just me, fully prepared, with your team.
Sudbury Organizations Face Distinctive Media Pressures
Northern Ontario's largest city sits at the intersection of resource extraction, public sector accountability and community advocacy. Mining companies navigate environmental scrutiny, labour relations and safety issues that attract both regional and national media attention. Healthcare organizations operate under intense public accountability in a system serving a vast geographic area. Municipal government faces persistent coverage of infrastructure, services and northern development issues. Government ministries serving the region are regularly called upon to explain policy decisions that affect communities across the north.
Whatever your sector, preparation is what separates the organizations that handle media well from the ones that don't.
What a Session Looks Like
Every session begins with a thorough understanding of your organization — your issues, your industry and what your spokespeople are likely to face. From there, we develop and stress-test your key messages as a group, then put each participant through a series of simulated media interviews — print, radio and television formats — conducted by a veteran journalist playing the role of reporter.
It's as close to the real thing as you can get. Participants leave knowing exactly how reporters think, what they're looking for and how to tell their organization's story clearly and effectively under pressure.
Sessions are available in half-day and full-day formats, for groups of any size, and for individual executives requiring focused one-on-one preparation.
Virtual Sessions Also Available
For Sudbury-based organizations that prefer remote delivery, virtual sessions are available and every bit as rigorous as the in-person experience. Ideal for organizations serving communities across Northern Ontario.
Let's Talk
If your organization is based in Sudbury or anywhere in Northern Ontario, I'd be glad to have a conversation about your media training needs and put together a proposal. No obligation, no pressure.
